Thank you for your support! All proceeds benefit The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, which is a nonprofit 501(c)3 open admissions shelter. We serve the entire Fayette County: approximately 27,000 citizens and over 900 square miles of mostly rural farmlands.
For 22 years we have taken in an average of 1,400-1,500 dogs and cats every year. With new leadership in 2020, we have changed directions and have redefined our mission to become more than an animal shelter; we are an animal welfare organization. The staff and volunteers work tirelessly and creatively to save every life we possibly can.
Every day we manage 30-34 dogs and 40-44 cats in kennel. We are a small facility, and that leaves dozens in foster and on a waiting list to come in.
In three years, we have taken in 4,240 dogs and cats and we have saved 97% of them! This mission doesn't stop and neither do we!
