Thank you for your support! All proceeds benefit The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, which is a nonprofit 501(c)3 open admissions shelter. We serve the entire Fayette County: approximately 27,000 citizens and over 900 square miles of mostly rural farmlands.
For 23 years we have taken in an average of 1,400-1,500 dogs and cats every year. In 2020, we changed directions and redefined our mission. Today we are far more than an animal shelter; we are an animal welfare organization. The staff and volunteers work tirelessly and creatively to save every life we possibly can.
Every day we manage 34-39 dogs and 47-50 cats in kennel. We are a small facility, and that leaves dozens in foster and a waiting list to come in.
In 2023 we took in 1,597 dogs and cats and we saved 97% of them!
This mission doesn't stop and with your support neither will we!
