Opportunities for Underwriting
We are delighted to invite you to underwrite various parts of our upcoming fundraiser for the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter (GJAS). This event promises to be a pivotal moment in our mission to improve the lives of homeless dogs and cats in our community. Your support can make a significant difference, and we respectfully ask for your partnership in this noble cause.
Our co-chairs pictured above, Pumpkin and Pumpkin Spice, both have amazing stories of survival with our care. Homeless animals face numerous challenges, from finding adequate food and shelter to receiving necessary medical care. By partnering with the GJAS, you are directly contributing to the betterment of their lives. Our shelter provides a safe haven for these animals, offering them a chance to heal, find loving homes, and live fulfilling lives.

Thank you for your support! All proceeds benefit The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, a nonprofit 501(c)3 open admissions shelter. We serve the entire Fayette County: approximately 27,000 citizens and over 900 square miles of mostly ranch and rural farmlands.
Year after year we take in on average 1,500-1,600 dogs and cats every year. The staff and volunteers work tirelessly and creatively to save every life we can. Every day we manage 37 dogs and 50 cats in the kennel. We are a small facility and that leaves dozens in foster and a waiting list to come in.
Our shelter is built on compassion: the compassion of those who do the work and the compassion of those who support the work we do.
In 2024 we cared for 1,682 dogs and cats and we, with your help, have saved 97% of them! This mission doesn't stop and neither will we!
Our Mission
To provide temporary care and safe shelter for homeless and unwanted dogs and cats.
To engage all available resources to rehome all healthy adoptable dogs and cats in an effort to minimize euthanasia.
To educate the community on the prevention of animal cruelty and the importance of spay/neuter.
