1996 Noval, Quinta Do Noval Unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Porto Located in College Station, TX "1996 Noval, Quinta Do Noval Unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Porto- age 26 years. Quinta do Noval, established in 1715, is one of the only Port houses located in the heart of the Douro Valley of Portugal. It is perhaps best known for its Nacional Vintage Ports. The vineyard that produces the grapes for port wine cling to the steep hillsides in the winding valleys of the Douro River in Northern Portugal. Noval’s 1996 LBV is an intense, rich, dark, red port with ripe aromas of cherries and blackberries, opening in the glass to reveal vibrant concentrated fruit backed up by fine silky tannins. This Porto is unfiltered and will continue to develop in the bottle. Having been spared the filtration process, this wine has more depth of color, richness of fruit, and intensity of bouquet than standard LBVs. Ideally served as an accompaniment to cheese, dessert, or on its own at the end of a meal. It may throw sediment and will need decanting. 20% alcohol content.
