How do I bid?

Once you are registered for the auction there are two ways to bid: Max Bidding or Direct Bidding.

1) Max Bidding: You simply indicate the maximum amount you wish to bid in the window where indicated and click on the “Place Bid” button. You will be taken to a confirmation screen that will ask you to either “Confirm Bid” or “Cancel Bid”. If you have not yet logged in you will be asked to do so in order to confirm your bid. If you win the auction item, you will not necessarily be required to pay your max bid amount. You will only have to pay your max bid if another bidder challenged your bid up to 1 bid increment away from your max bid.

For example, let's say an item with a $10 bid increment has a current high bid of $100 and I want to enter a max bid of $150. I would enter $150 in the "Bid Amount" textbox to set my Max Bid, however this will only increase the high bid to $110 (the next bid increment higher). Let's say another bidder sees the item at $110 and wants to bid on it for $120. They will attempt to bid but will receive a message saying their $120 bid has already been beaten. This is because of your secret $150 Max Bid. Your competition won't know about your Max Bid but they will probably catch on soon enough :) Now, what if the other bidder sets their max bid at $160 thus, beating your bid? Then, you wouldn't be the highest bidder anymore and you can either reset your max bid higher or stop bidding.

2) OR Direct Bidding: Bid in real time as each item is closing just like our live auctions. You will be required to bid, and confirm your bid, for each increment that you are advancing. In effect, you are taking the same steps as Max Bidding, but are not disclosing your maximum bid. You are doing the work instead of relying on the software.

Can you ship my purchases to me? Is shipping cost included in my bid?

We can ship your purchases, but Save Our Streets Ministries does not provide a shipping service and will NOT cover shipping costs. If you need your items shipped to you, there will be an additional charge added to your final bid amount.
